In the Community

Real estate is, at its core, about place, and the meaning people create within it. For Valerie, community is not separate from her work, it is an essential part of it. Her approach is rooted in contributing to the fabric of the places she serves, supporting local initiatives, and creating opportunities for connection, conversation, and shared experience.

Recent and ongoing initiatives include:

  • An opening event in Valerie’s Clearview speaker series, this conversation brought together women leading across business, community, and creative fields in an intimate, thoughtfully curated setting.

Moderated by the Chair of the Board for My Friend’s House in Collingwood, the evening created space for shared experiences, practical insight, and meaningful connection.

A silent auction held as part of the event supported My Friend’s House, with Valerie leading the curation, organization, and promotion to drive both awareness and impact.

  • Part of the ongoing Clearview series, this conversation explored sustainable and organic farming through the lens of food security and local systems.

In collaboration with the Clearview Food Bank and The New Farm, the event brought together voices from the agricultural community to offer a grounded, regionally relevant perspective on how land and food intersect.

Valerie led the concept and facilitation, ensuring the discussion remained accessible and engaging.

  • An intimate Q&A featuring Pretty River–based artist Rob Saley, this event offered a closer look at his process, influences, and body of work shaped by experiences across Canada and abroad.

A diverse and prolific artist working across mediums with a focus on landscape, Saley also founded the first Inuit Art Camp in Nunavut through his work with the Kivalliq Inuit Association and continues to teach there annually; in 2013, he became the first Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

Valerie hosted and guided the discussion, creating a relaxed, conversational setting that allowed for a more personal exchange.

  • A seasonal community program featuring live music and local arts in an open, accessible setting.

Valerie’s sponsorship supported the continuation of this long-standing series, helping ensure ongoing access to cultural programming for residents and visitors alike.

  • A forthcoming series developed in collaboration with local partners, focused on art, history, architecture, and storytelling.

The program is intended to highlight the depth and character of the region through curated events and conversations. Valerie is leading the vision and development of the series.

  • An upcoming 2027 sponsorship of the Creemore Film Festival, supporting independent film and cultural programming in the region. Valerie’s involvement reflects a continued commitment to fostering arts and community-based initiatives.

If you are interested in collaborating, hosting an event, or contributing to a future initiative, Valerie welcomes the conversation.
